Being Nomadic, 2015-2017

Being Nomadic is a series of soft sculpture installations that abstractly represent humans, creatures, and spirits. They do not embody armature, therefore without an external support they tend to cave in on themselves, creating new form and defining space.

Each installation heightens perspective on both the soft sculpture and its environment because the pairing creates a vision of contrast or camouflage and feelings of familiarity and absurdity. This perspective should vary for all who encounter the work for everyone has a unique way of perceiving the world. It is the sensory experience of the entity in an environment that allows the viewer to gain additional perspective on the entity itself.
